Tommy Tea Jubilee Celebrations for Moorhouse residents, friends, and families

Residents, families, friends and staff gathered together to celebrate the historical Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a WW2 themed Tommy Tea party in aid of the Royal British Legion Industries.

Staff and friends donned WW2 outfits including Manager Julie and her sister as Land Girl, Deputy Manager Michelle as a Great War Nurse, and George as Home Guard Private

Music from WW2 was played throughout the day and various activities took place including a quiz based on the Royal family.

Head Chef Juraj received a huge round of applause for laying on a delicious homemade jubilee-themed afternoon tea, consisting of delicate sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, sweet pastries, and cakes, all served on the terrace overlooking the garden.

Home Manager Julie commented  ‘Our Platinum Jubilee garden party was a wonderful afternoon, the sun was shining, the cakes were amazing and the Prosecco was flowing! After such a difficult time during the pandemic, it was lovely to see so many families celebrating together.’

The home raise £86 on the day for the Royal British Legion Industries.
